A [[Waffenzauber]] is a type of [[Ritualist]] [[Zauber]] that gives the target a "weapon". A player-wielded weapon takes on a distinct appearance when the player is under the effect of a weapon spell. It does not replace the effects of the real weapon being wielded by the target. While under the effects of a Weapon Spell, the following icon will show up on one's health bar in the party window and on the target display: [[Image: | A [[Waffenzauber]] is a type of [[Ritualist]] [[Zauber]] that gives the target a "weapon". Weapon Spells essentially act like [[enchantment]]s. However, since they are a different skill type, [[enchantment]] removal or other skills that trigger on them don't work with Weapon Spells. On the downside, however, Weapon Spells cannot be stacked. | Weapon Spells essentially act like [[enchantment]]s. A Waffenzauber is a type of Ritualist Zauber that gives the target a "weapon". A player-wielded weapon takes on a distinct appearance when the player is under the effect of a weapon spell. It does not replace the effects of the real weapon being wielded by the target. While under the effects of a Weapon Spell, the following icon will show up on one's health bar in the party window and on the target display:
Weapon Spells essentially act like enchantments. However, since they are a different skill type, enchantment removal or other skills that trigger on them don't work with Weapon Spells. On the downside, however, Weapon Spells cannot be stacked.
Each character can only be affected by one Weapon Spell at a time. If a new Weapon Spell is cast on a character already under one, the old one is removed and replaced by the new one.
Oddly enough, a player may be under the effects of a Weapon Spell even when that player has no weapon equipped (such as when he/she is holding a flag or bundle or under the effects of an Item Spell). In this case, no special ghostly weapon will be shown. This also applies to minions and pets, who do not use traditional weapons.

Notes
- During the Guild Wars Nightfall World Preview Event, Scythes and Spears did not change appearance while under the effects of a Weapon Spell, nor do the preorder weapons so far.
